Thank you to everyone who donated and supported our mission. Our current goal is to reach $48,000 in donations to provide salaries for all teachers and caretakers at Kingsland Junior School and Orphanage.
Staff Salary Endowment: One of the biggest needs the Kingsland Junior School needs is consistency for their staff's income. Historically the school has had to raise the funds to meet their staff pay on a monthly basis, sometimes going multiple months without being able to pay these amazing caretakers. Our goal with this campaign is to raise the $48,000 that will pay for the salaries of the 20 members of the staff that keep the school running and the children taken care of. You read that right, $48,000 a year will cover all 20 staff members. These amazing people deserve to feel confidant in the ability to care for their families as they care for the children in their charge.
Food Security: Kingsland has always worked towards self-sufficiency when it comes to providing for the needs of the children in its care. Currently, the staff and community volunteers help to farm the land and raise chickens that are used as part of the food needed to feed many growing, young bodies. The goal for the Food Security campaign is to raise $35,000 to allow for a mill to be built on the grounds of the school. This would allow Kingsland to be the only grain mill for 50 Km which will allow the school to generate its own income and receive in-kind payments of grain that can be used to feed its kids. This will be a powerful step in helping the school become a major change agent in its community.
